Village Nuts was born back in 2013 when we started harvesting the chestnut and hazelnut orchards at Barn Pinch Farm - on the shore of Lake Wanaka. Since then, we have been roasting chestnuts on street corners, at markets and events every winter. From time to time we also offer honeyed walnuts and toasted salted hazelnuts at markets and special events in the warmer months.

In 2020, in response to the covid19 pandemic shutting down our usual sales outlets, we purchased a chestnut peeling machine and started selling a new range of chestnut products on an online shop on the Open Food Network. Our product range includes raw chestnuts, raw pre-cut chestnuts, raw peeled chestnuts, and roasted peeled chestnuts. These products are available between the months of March and July.
